FIND A JOB IN YOUR FIELD IN BY THE END OF THE DAY.

-->
So your young, naïve, inexperience, broke, ambitious, with nothing to loose and everything to gain.
Good. This is a favorable position to be in, once you understand the concept I am about to show you.
There will also be a script you can start implementing as soon as you finish reading this.

This script will at least get your foot in the door in the field of your training or choosing, and at best will get you working with some of the best people in your career.

You can jump down to the script below and implement it right now if you’re impatient.

Ok a little background on this.
I came about completely by accident. I kept using it over and over in the careers that caught my attention.

My very fist job was installing audio, video, and alarm systems in cars.  Keep in mind I was only 14 years old, absolutely no concept how anything worked and I managed to work with one of the leading installation shops. Fast forward a couple years later and the same technique also worked to become a web designer and help convince a very wealthy businessman in my city to take me under his wing, and show me the ropes of business.

It helped a shy, introverted friend of mine who still in college work as a graphic design in one of the most sought out companies in our city. It also worked for a newly graduated accountant to get a job as a bookkeeper in a CPA firm. Last time I heard she was on her way to be one of the main accountants.

Before I begin though there are 2 questions you have answer. Don’t worry they’re easy, you just need to think a bit, make sure you answer them.

a.      What career interest you and genuinely want to work in? Cars, art, MMA, design, video...
b.      Are you studying that field right now? Are you at least familiar with the career?

 SCRIPT

1.     Find the field that interest you.
Example. Graphic design
2.     Go to google maps and type in graphic design in the city you live in.
Find the best and the most professional one. This technique works best with small to medium business. (Aim high)
Get the information but DO NOT CALL.
3.     Dress nice and go visit those businesses. (Here comes the good part)

4.     Ask to speak with THE MAIN DECISION MAKER. Depending on the business its either the manager or the owner.

You: “Hi, my name is ____ I wanted to see if I could talk to the owner or manager?” (Very nicely and while smiling)
Other person: “May I ask what this is regarding?”
You: “Sure. I just needed to ask him/her a quick question.” (The point is to talk directly to the decision maker)
**Sometimes the person is not going to be available at that specific time so get the name and direct phone number. Go visit the other places on your list and come back later.
Other person: “Give me one a minute”
Once you get to stand in front of the owner or manager…

You: “Hi, I’m ____ and thanks for taking the time to see me. I wanted to see if you needed help” (DO NOT ASK ARE YOU HIRING!)
At this point he is either going to say no or ask you what do you know or if you have any experience.  Tell them your exact experience then proceed with the following.

You: “I read your reviews on yelp and google and from what it said you know Graphic Design very well. I am taking some classes on graphic design and want to start working in the field.”
Or “I actually don’t have any experience but that is the reason I’m here. You see I am really interested in working as a graphic designer.

To show you how serious I am, I propose the following. Let me work and help you for one week, and ill do it for FREE, you don’t have to pay me. (similar to an internship)In that week you can see how I work and how much I want to be in the graphic design field. If for some reason you don’t like working together Ill simply get up say thanks and leave. No harm done. However what’s most likely going to happen is that you will tell me to stick around.”

You will probably catch him by surprise, but if you see some hesitancy….

You:” I’m sure that you weren’t born with your current skills, and at one point someone gave you a shot. That’s what I’m looking for. I’m ready to start right now if you’d like, or should I come tomorrow?”

The point is to sell what you currently have. And if you are young the only thing you have is your ambition to learn.
And after a week start looking at your options. If you stay a couple months with a business you can use that to leverage into another business that WILL pay you. Keep adjusting and modify this script. Good luck!
